If you follow the install video for these bars it is as step-by-step as it gets. Great value, stout construction, straight forward to install, fit perfectly and coverage & finish looks great.

These crash bars fit like a glove! The hardest part about installing them was removing the seat, radiator fairings and fuel tank. Plenty of space under the fuel petcock, and everywhere else. They have a nice finish that matches the rest of the bike. I haven't tested them yet, but I'm sure that's coming!

I've had these bars on both a 2008 KLR 650 and a 2017 KLR 650. I've been extremely happy with them on both. The price point is great and the fit and finish is excellent. I highly recommend them to anyone who's going to be using a dual sport for what they were designed for.

After one crash on my KLR, these things have already paid for themselves. The paint on the guards got rashed up a bit, but my fairings were absolutely untouched. Also, these things are just a great place to rest your feet on long highway slogs. Even without a bar mounted footpeg, that first step up on the crash bars works perfect. Also, when I took my kid out on the bike, she was able to comfortably reach her feet to the bars and have a secure place to sit. For the price, I can't recommend these enough. Just take your time and deal with the fact that you won't get those front allen bolts in easily, and the install goes pretty smoothly. The video instructions RMATV put out were great too.

I had been looking at a number of different crashbars for the KLR. I had really liked two of the several out there but coverage and mounting points were an issue.
I was a little skeptical of the Tusk bars but then I saw a photo closeup of the downtube on the bike’s frame and I was impressed.
The only issue is I own a Outback Motortek skid plate and it’s pretty tall. None of the other companies wanted to step forth and take a chance in eating the return delivery if it didn’t work: seems to me if it did work they’d gain a greater customer base, but oh well. I pulled the trigger and the bars do work with the Outback Motortek skid plate, and boy does it look good together!!
Also, it took little amount of time to install and the only things I removed for the assembly was the seat, side plastic and lower radiator fairings. Did not even remove the skid plate. You have to fish the spacers with a trick but it was easy.
