When I first discovered the ZARD "Big" Slip‑Ons, marketed as a true Italian-crafted upgrade for the Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber, I was intrigued by the details: handcrafted in Italy using AISI 304 stainless steel, with options for bronzed or stainless end caps and a choice of satin or black finish—clearly built with both form and function in mind. After installing them on my 2018 V9 Bobber, it became immediately obvious that this was no ordinary upgrade.
Sound & Character: The transformation in the tone is astonishing. At idle, there's a rich, low-frequency hum—calm, confident, and unapologetically bold. Revved a bit, it opens into a deep, resonant growl that makes the bike feel alive in a whole new way. It’s aggressive without being obnoxious and commands attention wherever you go.
Build Quality & Design: The finishing and craftsmanship feel premium from the moment you hold them. I chose the bronzed end caps with a satin finish, and the contrast elevates the bike’s aesthetic—it's modern with a subtle nod to classic styling. These aren’t just functional accessories; they’re art.
Ride Feel & Performance: Weighing in at just 4.6 kg total, these slip-ons shed about 3.8 kg compared to stock—what a difference that makes. The Bobber feels noticeably lighter, more responsive, and surprisingly nimble. Throttle response is crisper, especially in the mid-range, giving the ride a newfound energy.
Installation: The plug-and-play fitment means zero modifications required—swapping in the new exhausts was smooth and stress-free. I had it done in under an hour, and they sat secure and perfectly flush with the frame.
Overall Impression: ZARD’s “Big” Slip-Ons are a rare combination of beautiful craftsmanship, meaningful performance gains, and dramatic aesthetic enhancement. If you're looking to give your Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber that soulful roar and an upgraded ride feel, these slip-ons are a brilliant investment.
I recently fitted my 2018 Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber with the ZARD “Big” Slip‑Ons, and I’ve been absolutely blown away. The moment I twist the throttle, the bike’s personality changes entirely — a rich, resonant growl that sounds both vintage and powerful. At idle, there's a low rumble with just enough subtlety; once you're cruising, it opens into a commanding, throaty roar that attracts glances and earned nods at every stoplight.
The craftsmanship is visibly top-notch. The stainless steel AISI 304 construction feels rock-solid (and is indeed intentionally built that way). I opted for the bronzed end caps paired with a black satin silencer finish — the contrast against the bike's dark panels is dramatic and sophisticated. Installation was a breeze: plug‑and‑play with no modifications required, which was a pleasant surprise
Performance-wise, the weight reduction is palpable. Shaving off about 3.8 kg (~8.4 lb) makes the bike noticeably more responsive in corners and roll-ons smoother. There’s a firmer bite in the mid-range, and even on longer rides, it feels more alive and eager.
If you're looking to upgrade both the look and the soul of your V9 — the ZARD “Big” Slip-Ons are it. They’re built in Italy with real attention to detail, deliver that perfectly balanced deep tone, and give your riding experience serious character.
When I first fitted the ZARD “Big” Slip‑Ons to my 2018 Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber, I immediately noticed how much more alive the bike felt. The installation was impressively straightforward—just a plug‑and‑play swap with no need for modifications whatsoever
The craftsmanship is evident: hand‑welded AISI 304 stainless steel silencers, with the option of satin or black finish, and end caps in bronzed or stainless steel—all entirely designed and handcrafted in Italy. The build quality isn’t just for show; the black ceramic coating is rated to withstand temperatures up to 1000 °C—serious durability
Performance-wise, the bike shed nearly 3.8 kg (about 8.4 lbs), making it noticeably more responsive and nimble on twisty roads. But the real standout is the sound: deep, throaty, and thoroughly engaging. It gives the V9 that raw, custom-worthy presence.
Aesthetically, these Slip-Ons look phenomenal—especially with the bronzed end caps against the matte finish. It elevates the Bobber’s stance to something more refined, aggressive, and undeniably unique.
If you’re after a combination of visual upgrade, weight reduction, and acoustic bliss—and you ride a Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber or Roamer from 2016–2019—don’t think twice. The ZARD “Big” Slip-Ons are the bold move your bike has been waiting for.
I recently installed the ZARD "Big" Slip-Ons on my 2017 Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber, and I’m absolutely blown away by the difference. The fitment was flawless, and installation was quick and easy — I had it done in about 45 minutes. The exhaust looks fantastic, giving the bike a more aggressive, custom feel with its bold design and larger pipes. The matte finish adds a sleek touch that perfectly complements the V9 Bobber's rugged appearance.
The sound is where this exhaust truly shines. It gives the bike a deep, throaty growl that is a massive upgrade from the stock exhaust. At idle, it has a smooth, rumbling tone, and as you accelerate, it opens up with a crisp, powerful roar that commands attention. It’s definitely louder than the stock pipes, but not overwhelming — just the right amount of volume to make the bike sound as powerful as it looks.
Performance-wise, I noticed an immediate improvement. The bike feels livelier, with a sharper throttle response and smoother power delivery across the rev range. It’s more responsive, especially in the mid-range, making the ride much more engaging and fun. The bike also feels more agile and eager to accelerate, whether I’m cruising on the highway or riding through city streets.
Overall, the ZARD "Big" Slip-Ons are an excellent upgrade for anyone looking to enhance their Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber. They not only improve the sound but also give the bike a more refined, powerful feel. Highly recommended for anyone looking to take their V9 Bobber to the next level!
I recently installed the ZARD Big N.2 Slip-Ons on my 2018 Moto Guzzi V9 Bobber, and I have to say—I’m genuinely impressed.
First off, installation was surprisingly smooth. The fit was almost OEM-perfect, with ZARD’s stainless-steel silencers aligning beautifully right out of the box. The supplied clamps and mounting hardware felt high quality and solid, which made the whole process a stress-free breeze.
Once on, the exhaust transformed the bike’s personality. The tone is deeper and more authoritative—a throaty gravel rumble that announces your presence with confidence. It doesn’t drown out the ride, though; it maintains a refined growl that suits the Bobber’s character. In short, it sounds rich without being overwhelming.
Performance-wise, I noticed a modest improvement in throttle response across the mid-RPM range. It’s subtle, but there’s definitely a crisper “kick” when accelerating from about 3,000 to 5,000 RPM. I haven’t done dyno testing yet, but out on twisty mountain roads, the bike feels just that bit more eager and responsive.
Aesthetically, the slip-ons look fantastic—sleek, minimalist, and well-finished. The brushed stainless finish complements the V9’s raw lines and blacked-out tones perfectly. Even after a few rides, they’ve held up well—no discoloration or signs of wear yet.
If there’s a downside, it’s the price. At over $1,100, it’s a solid investment—especially when shipping to Ecuador, where customs and duties jump the cost further. It’s priced for riders who want premium craftsmanship and sound without going full after-market system. But once installed, every time I fire up the Bobber, I’m convinced it’s money well spent.
Final Verdict: If you’re chasing a polished, aggressive sound and high-quality build for your V9 Bobber (2016–2019), the ZARD Big Slip-Ons deliver—with style and substance. Just be ready to invest accordingly.
